Explanatory text adapted from conversations with the artists and from essays by Gordon Hatt
Babies float up in the air, arms and legs stretched and looking directly at the viewer. The life giving air duct is connected to the umbilical cord giving them a very human identity yet it floats above us in an angel like pose, wanting, yearning, reaching - to embrace - to be embraced. They are present as physical bodies and remind us of life as both miraculous and ephemeral.
